Bay Views

The city of Tiburon sits on a peninsula reaching out into the San Francisco Bay with stunning views of San Francisco, the Marin Highlands, and Angel Island. The sprawling coastline is home to slips for sailboats and large watercraft. Hillside estates overlook the bay surrounded by lush California greenery while historic homes give downtown Tiburon a classic charm. The tree-lined Main Street is the epicenter of restaurants, shops, and curiosities. In the summer months, a portion of the street is closed to traffic to allow restaurants to offer al fresco dining in the center of town. With ferry service to San Francisco and Angel Island, Tiburon is a destination city for residents and visitors alike.

Things to Do

Being on the water, Tiburon offers a number of parks and seaside attractions. Paradise Beach Park has well-maintained grounds with areas for walking through the gardens, strolling down the beach, or enjoying a picnic with amazing views all around. Mount Tamalpais is a short drive as is Stinson Beach. A breathtaking ride up the Pacific Coast Highway is worth the ride if you’re surfing or having a day on the shore. A short ferry excursion from Tiburon to Angel Island brings with it even more choices for outdoor recreation. Take an afternoon bike ride on the many trails crisscrossing the island. Then take in the sunset falling over the Golden Gate Bridge. Back in town, the summer concerts, Friday Nights on Main, and block parties bring the community together every weekend in the summer months. For the shoppers, visit the iconic Ark Row, so named because of their being housed in what was formerly ark boats.

Dinner on the Docks

Tiburon has an assortment of fine dining indoors and out. Harbor-front dining on the deck at Sam’s Anchor Café is a must; it’s been in operation since the 1920s and continues to offer stunning views and exceptional cuisine. Guayamas is known in Tiburon for its authentic Mexican dishes with plenty of room to relax in a casual environment. For an amazing Italian experience, Luna Blu offers traditional fare as well as a diverse menu of seafood selections. Having so many options for outdoor dining on the waterfront as well as the downtown shops and boutiques, Tiburon is a beautiful, friendly community and is becoming one of the most sought-after locations in Marin County.
